A former Prime Minister of Algeria Mr Ahmed Ouyahia has appeared in court to answer questions relating to a corruption probe implicating several associates of former President Abdelaziz Bouteflika.
Mr Ouyahia, served as Algeria’s Prime Minister for four consecutive times. The sixty-six-year-old former Prime Minister joined a growing list of politicians and businessmen that are under investigation following former President Bouteflika’s resignation in early April, as a result of weeks of massive protests.
Meanwhile, a court in Tipaza, a town roughly eighty kilometres West of Algiers, questioned former Police Chief Abdelghani Hamel as part of a judicial inquiry into alleged bribery.
