International Workers Day is a celebration of labourers and the working class that is promoted by the international labour movement which occurs every year on first May.
The theme for this year’s event is, “another one hundred years of struggle for jobs, dignity and social justice in Nigeria”.
To mark the day workers will take part in Match pasts and parade in all the thirty-six States of federation and Federal Capital Territory Abuja.
The federal government has declared today as public holiday to mark the event.
