The state Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Comrade Emma Ifesinachi has called on members to come together and form a united front to elevate the Council.

Comrade Ifesinachi made the call during the May 2019 Congress of the Union held at the Chief Godwin Ezeemo International Press Centre in Awka.

The first Congress for the year, attracted the newly elected executives and members of the Union, and featured inauguration of nine committees that will help to fast track the actualization of the lofty visions and plans of the council under the present leadership.

Comrade Ifesinachi called on members to support his leadership to rebuild and redefine the organization for the benefit of all.

Promising to use his second term in office to serve the people, Comrade Ifesinachi appealed to the aggrieved members to let go their grievances and join forces to make the Union greater.

Earlier in a service to kick start the Congress, the Senior Pastor of Deeper Love Assembly International, Pastor Joseph Nwabueze emphasized the need for all mortal to retain God in their knowledge, in order to prosper, overcome life challenges, and inherit God’s kingdom after death.

Among the inaugurated committees was the Ethics and Disciplinary Committee headed by the Director News and Current Affairs Department of the Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS, Mr. Gab
Okpalaeze, who promised on behalf of others to ensure that sanity is brought in practice of journalism profession.
