Anambra State Commissioner for Public Utilities, Mr Obi Nwankwo has undertaken the inspection of a seven-point-five MVA injection substation being installed by the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company, EEDC inside the premises of the Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS), ahead of its inauguration for use.

The Commissioner who was accompanied by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr James Eze and the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Anambra Broadcasting Service, Chief Uche Nworah, explained that the project, solely undertaken by the EEDC with the state government making land space available inside the premises of the Anambra Broadcasting Service shows the commitment of the state government towards ensuring that Ndi Anambra have improved power supply.

Expressing satisfaction with the level of work done so far, Commissioner Nwankwo, said it is in line with the State Government’s efforts to boost electricity supply within Awka and environs, but asked Ndi Anambra to protect EEDC equipment in their localities and to pay their energy consumption bills when due.

The seven point five injection substation when fully installed will boost power supply in Okpuno, State Secretariat Complex and Ifite Circuit as explained by the Supervisor of the project, Mr Ejike Okoye.
