Anambra State government has restated its determination to continue to invest in key sectors of the economy to improve the living standards of the people.

Governor Willie Obiano stated this at Saint James Parish Uga in Aguata Local Government Area, during a thanksgiving service to mark the end of the second session of the Fifth Synod of the Anglican Diocese of Aguata.

Governor Obiano who was represented by the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Awka Capital Territory Development Authority, Venerable Amaechi Okwuosa, maintained that his administration will continue to place priority on health care delivery, Education, Agriculture, Road infrastructure among others.

The Governor who said that his government will continue to work in synergy with the Church to improve the moral tone of the society charged parents to always monitor the kind of company their children keep in order not to bring shame to their various families.

Governor Obiano who during the event called for continuous prayers for his administration disclosed that the twenty million naira Community Choose Your Project Initiative which has entered its third phase is aimed at bringing development to the hinterlands.

In a remark, a former Governor of Anambra State Dame Virgy Etiaba and the Commissioner for Environment, Mr Mike Okonkwo while charging Christians to make true love their watch word called on the Church to always pray for those in authority to enable them deliver on their mandate.

Earlier in a sermon, the guest Preacher and Bishop of Aba Diocese Right Reverend Christian Ugwuzor while charging Ministers of God to always aspire to live indelible legacies wherever they are posted maintained that salvation only comes from God.

Bishop Ugwuzor stressed the need for the faithful to re-discover their individual destinies and channel it to the service of God and humanity.

In an interview the President of the Synod and Bishop of Aguata Diocese Right Reverend Samuel Ezeofor, who spoke extensively on the theme of the synod “JESUS CHRIST THE POWER OF GOD AND WISDOM OF GOD” called on Christians to always allow the Holy Spirit to direct their daily lives in order to succeed in all endeavours.

The Special Assistant to the Governor on Secondary Education Monitoring, Lady Chinyere Mbakwe and a Synod Delegate Lady Ngozi Ike charged Christians to abstain from behaviour that will debase Christianity.

A former Deputy Governor Mr Emeka Sibudu, Chancellor of Aguata Diocese Justice Peter Obiora, a High Court Judge Justice Peace Otti, President Aguata Council of Knights, Sir Isaiah Eze-Ezika, traditional rulers, Pioneer Bishop of Aguata Diocese Most Reverend Christian Efobi and his wife Dame Jane and a philanthropist, Chief Walter Chigbo were among those that attended the event.

Anthem by the choir and special number by the women of the Diocese led by their President Mrs Chinyere Ezeofor added glamour to the event.
