In a bid to ensure brotherhood and sisterhood among APGA faithful in Awka North and Awka South Local Government Areas, stakeholders in the two council areas have come together under the umbrella of old Awka forum, OAF.

This is to attract the much needed infrastructural and human capital developments, as well as facilitate political appointments and employments into Government Agencies at all levels, for both local government areas.

Delegates of the Old Awka Forum paid a courtesy visit to the National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Dr Victor Oye.

Speaking on behalf of the forum, the Member representing Awka South One Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Pharmacist Nnamdi Okafor, said the visit was in line with the decision of the forum to give its unalloyed support and solidarity to the reelection of , Dr. Oye as National Chairman of APGA.

He further informed the National Chairman of APGA that the forum is reaching out to well meaning APGA stalwarts across the country for their considerations of reelecting him for a second term in office as APGA National Chairman, considering his outstanding performance within four years of his first term.

Receiving the group, the National Chairman of APGA, Dr. Oye, thanked members of the Old Awka Forum for their show of brotherhood and love in this regard.

He used the medium to pass a message of hope and assurances to APGA faithful across the federation, saying that his vision for the party was to make APGA a brand, to make people believe in it, have the zeal to fight for it, and take it to the level of being the first and strongest political party in Nigeria.

Dr Oye added that it was the people who gave him the mandate to lead as National Chairman of APGA, therefore he must be accountable to them, saying he has been doing this by being transparent and accountable in all his dealings as National Chairman.

He said that his next step towards strengthening the party is to empower its members, especially youth and women, through capacity building and skills acquisition programmes, through partnership with international donor agencies in this regard.

Dr Oye said that the first batch of APGA members shall after the National Convention, leave for America for a leadership capacity building.

In attendance were the Deputy Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Barrister Harford Oseke, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Trig Point Hotels, Chief Okwy, a Philanthropist, Chief Jude Agumadu, the Member-elect for Awka North Constituency in the Seventh Session of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Mr John Nwokoye and his Awka South II Constituency, Mr Chukwuma Okoye.

Others are the Transition Committee Chairman for Awka South Local Government Area, Mr Leo Nwuba and his Awka North counterpart, Mr Ferdinand Onwuje, the APGA Chairman for Awka North Local Government Area, Mr Uzoma Mbonu, the Anambra State Auditor of APGA, Nchekwube Tony Dunga, and a host of other personalities.
