Stakeholders in Umudioka Dunukofia Local Government Area have initiated moves to tackle issues of disharmony, cultism and other vices in the area
A Group of Political elite in the Community led by the State Chairman of Anambra State Physical Planning Board, Barrister Chike Mmaduekwe made their plans known during a courtesy call on the Transition Committee Chairman Of Dunukofia Local Government Area, Mr Emeka Okonkwo in his office at the Council Headquarters, Ukpo.
Barrister Mmaduekwe congratulated the chairman on his elevation as the nrw sheriff of the Local government, urging him to make people-oriented programs that will address the yearnings of the common man, as decorum and peaceful disposition should be utmost amongst the people.
Barrister Maduekwe applauded Governor Willie Obiano for carrying the youths along, especially in the appointment of youths into his cabinet, which he described as empowerment on its own.
On decongestion of the popular Oye Agu Junction of traffic gridlock, he commended the Chairman for his efforts, hinting that himself and the Commissioner for Transport, Mr Uchenna Okafor have made efforts in that regard in the past, pledging to continue.
Responding, the Chairman of Dunukofia Council Area, Mr Emeka Okonkwo thanked rhe group for their selflessness, act of patriotism and commitment to the wellbeing of the Community, assuring of utmost commitment to carry everyone along, thereby engendering tranquility, growth and sustainable development.
He called on them to always rally round him as he cannot bring the desired change alone, but through combined efforts.
Political appointees, top government functionaries, among others were part of the visit.
