Students have, once again, been cautioned against cultism and other nefarious activities that could mar their future.
The Rector of Federal Polytechnic Oko, Dr. Francisca Nwafulugo gave this charge, while addressing new intakes of the institution at the school.
The Rector emphasized that matriculation is a time-honoured event in the academic calendar that offers all new students correct sense of legitimate enrollment as bonafide students of an institution.
The Rector remarked that the institution will not tolerate any form of vices, advising them to socialize with their fellow students, recreate through sports development and tap the potentials for success and excellence in life.
The matriculation ceremony which commenced with procession saw students dressed in their different matriculation gowns as they took their matriculation vow conducted by the Polytechnic Registrar, Mrs Stella Njaka.
In their separate speeches, some of the matriculants, including Miss Ozioma Nwammadu, from Fashion and Designing Department and Samuel Odogwu, of Mass Communication Department, expressed gratitude to God for giving them the opportunity to be admitted into the institution.
