Anambra State government has promised to Upgrade facilities at Anambra Newspapers and Printing Corperation, publishers of National Light Newspapers.
Governor Willie Obiano made the promise during a working Visit to the establishment’s Headquarters in Awka.
On arrival, the Governor took a tour of facilities in the establishment including the newsroom, ICT Center and commercial unit , among other places.
Speaking shortly after the tour , Governor Obiano said the visit has helped him appreciate the needs of the establishment, with a view to appraising and addressing the issues.
The Governor commended the staff and encouraged them to show increased hardwork, promising that Anambra State government will look into the areas of concern mentioned by the management.
Responding the Editor-in-Chief and Managing Director of the Establishment, Sir Chuka Nnabuife commended the Governor for his commitment to revitalizing the establishment, noting that they have been able to win awards since the Governor came on board, but requested him to upgrade their facilities so that they can be at par with their counterparts.
The Governor was accompanied on visit by the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Mr. C.Don Adinuba while members of staff, senior government functionaries and staff of the establishment, among others were also present.
The Governor also inspected the Government Printers at the Government House, Awka.
