A four-day workshop on dialogue between the state government, Civil Society Organizations and Media stations on the implementation of the Anambra State Anti-Corruption strategy and Justice sector reform Team’s 2019 Action plan has kicked off in Awka.
The event aimed at getting the key participants to form a synergy on how to eradicate all forms of corruption in the society through the implementation of Anti -corruption strategy in Anambra state, is in its component four, funded by the European Union in collaboration with Anambra state government and managed by British Council.
Addressing participants at the workshop, the component four leader, Rule of Law and Anti- Corruption, RoLAC, Mrs. Toyosi Giwa, said she hoped to find ways of supporting the unanimous implementation strategies arrived at, especially those that are logical, coherent and with lasting impact on a large number of people.
Giving an overview of the workshop, one of the facilitators from Anambra State Anti -Corruption Strategy ANSACS, Dr Ada Eze said the event will strengthen the capacities of government institutions, Civil Society Organisations and the media to engage in public dialogue on criminal justice and anti corruption policies and issues.
Dr Eze also explained that the meeting was to support CSOs and media organisations to identify priority activities that they can carry out towards the implementation of ANSACS and ASJSRT action plans.
The programme at the end will identify priority actions to be undertaken by CSOs and the media, identify priority actions for collaboration between MDAs, CSOs and the media, and outlining results on strategies to implement priority actions
