The Chairman, Anambra State Internal Revenue Service, Dr David Nzekwu has restated total commitment of the Service in ridding the state of illegal revenue collectors.

Dr Nzekwu stated this in his office in Awka while briefing newsmen on the arrest of Mc-Chuks Global Resources and Tina Stores Limited who allegedly issued fake demand notice, beat people and took them to court without remitting the money into government coffers .

Dr Nzekwu stated that in spite of all the tax education and enlightenment campaigns to Ndi Anambra to desist from collecting revenue from people, some still embark on it thereby siphoning
government money.

He recalled that the Governor had issued order that nobody should collect of revenues in markets, parks and other places until June this year but lamented that they have continued to observe all manner of illegal collections.

Dr Nzekwu cautioned residents of the State to ensure they pay their levies and tax into government account adding that apart from this, they should know that people demanding for the money are fake.

He advised people faced with such illegal demands to contact his office, or call these numbers 07066727750 or 09053234816 to lay their complaints.

Dr Nzekwu warned that that anyone caught will face the full wrath of the law as they have remanded eleven people in prison custody and after prosecution, two of them have been sentenced to three years in prison while some are still standing trial .
