The Anambra state Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, has arrested sixteen persons suspected for various degrees of drug offences.
The arrest was product of a four day raid on various smoking joints across the state.
Reacting to the arrests, the State Commander of the Agency, Mr. Sule Momodu, said they will not relent in the war against drug abuse and trafficking.
He added that the Agency is investigating the suspects after which those who have no case to answer will be allowed to go while those found culpable will be charged to court.
Mr. Momodu cautioned drug peddlers in the state to relocate because the Agency’s search light is on the highest rader to fish them out no matter where they hide.
The Commander praised the state government for providing them the right environment and logistics to put in their best.
Some of the suspects that spoke to the press including the forty five years old, Amechi Ubanese, Paschal Ogbo, Kabiru Abdulahi, Onyebuchi Eze, Okechukwu Simon among others, gave reasons for their involvement and subsequent arrests.
It will be recalled that last month, ten suspects were arraigned in court for drug related offences.
