The Commander of taskforce on Illegal Tolls in Anambra State, Mr Nathan Obikwelu has debunked allegations that a certain lady, known as Madam Black is collecting illegal levies at Nkwo Igboukwu in Aguata Local Government Area.
Mr Obikwelu told the ABS that he led his team to a surprise raid at the Market yesterday, but after interacting with the traders, they were able to ascertain that the allegations were false.
He used the opportunity to warn those who flout the directives of the State government ban on temporal cancellation of collection of fees, levies and tolls in Anambra Markets, to desist as his Taskforce will arrest and charge them to court.
Mr Obikwelu revealed that his Taskforce has so far arrested over seventy Illegal Toll collectors in various Markets and Streets across the State, who are currently being prosecuted.
He charged traders and their leaders to be law abiding and to contact the Taskforce using the number 08037835358 to report any Illegal toll collector in both Markets and streets.
