The Secretary to Anambra State Government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu, has expressed concerns over renewed increase in idol worship in many parts of the country.
He spoke at Nnewi, during the seventieth birthday anniversary of the General Overseer of Life Care Gospel Ministry, Bishop Jonathan Ikegwuonu.
Professor Chukwulobelu, expressed worry that a number of people now engage in idol worship, in spite of the presence of many Churches in virtually all nooks and cranny calling for a re-think.
The Secretary to the State Government, observed that many people nowadays prefer to consult occult worshippers or engage in other unchristian like behaviour such as seeking solution to problems through idols, instead of seeking the face of God’’.
Professor Chukwulobelu on behalf of the Anambra Government wished the celebrant many fruitful years ahead, stressing that it is important to celebrate someone, who has helped to improve the moral tone of the society.
One of the dignitaries, Bishop Emma Obiora of Life of Faith Gospel Ministries, said it is ideal to honour people when alive.
