Students have been charged to desist from idling away their time but instead learn craft for a brighter future.

The member elect for Awka North and South Federal Constituency, Engineer Chinedu Onwuaso gave the charge at Bishop Crowther Memorial Secondary School Awka, during their 2019 skill acquisition and Career day.

Engineer Onwuaso, who said that craft making is the only means that can engage one meaningfully and create job for teaming youths, stated that education is not all about government work but also harnesses and develops ideas and talent in them.

He called on parents to encourage their wards to engage in skills and craft acquisition frowning at some that push their wards to making quick money describing craft of today as a millionaire tomorrow.

The Principal of the school, Venerable Dr. Nnamdi Emendu said that the day is part of their curricular activities aimed at exposing graduating students on various aspects of life so as to be useful to their selves and the society upon graduation and solicited for support from well meaning individuals and governmbent in upgrading their technical session.

A resource person, Comrade Arinze Omenwa who exposed the students to information technology, agriculture, building and allied areas advice them not to allow their background to deter them rather work hard stating that with determination, they will succeed even as he advised
the students not to hope on their parents for brighter future but establish their selves and specialize in a profession.

While expressing their joy over the day, the Deputy Senior Prefect of the school, Ebuka Okoye and another student, Godfrey Chiadinizu said with the knowledge garnered, they can easily choose their careers without mistake as many of them were confused on what to do and commended the principal and teachers for their efforts.
