Police detectives attached to the Anambra State Command of the Special Anti Robbery Squad have arrested two elderly women suspected to be part of a child theft syndicate in the State.

Ifeyinwa Ezenaeme, aged fifty and Caroline Mbonu, aged seventy-five were said to have in 2012, conspired with one David Nwachukwu, now in prison custody and stole a baby boy, Mmerichukwu Okoli aged seven from the biological Mother, Mrs Azubuike Jennifer.

The stolen Child has been recovered and re-united with his parents.

Meanwhile, another eight year-old girl child, Ifeoma, was equally rescued from the suspects as they cannot give satisfactory account of the child.

According to a press release from the Command, signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Haruna Mohammed, the case is under investigation, after which the suspects will be charged to Court.

In another development, a member of One Chance robbery syndicate, has been arrested and fire arm and ammunition, recovered from him.

According to Police report, Police operatives attached to Operation Puff Adder in conjunction with a Patrol team attached to Awada Division while on Stop and Search duty at Ezeiweka road by NEPA
junction, arrested One Stanley Chiemezie Ekegbobe, aged thirty-one of Ugwuagba, Obosi in Idemili North Local Government Area.

The suspect was intercepted inside a tricycle and on sighting the Police, took to his heels but was overpowered and arrested.

Exhibit recovered from the suspect include one fabricated revolver pistol and one life ammunition.

The Case is also under investigation and efforts are ongoing to apprehend fleeing accomplices to bring them to Justice.
