The Ihuakulu-Okpara village in Amichi, Nnewi-South local government area of Anambra State has appealed to the federal government to come to their aid over the imminent threat of gully erosion that might submerge the entire community if urgent care is not taken.

In a release signed by the community leader, Chief Gabriel Ezeani the flood water from Igboukwu which is responsible for the gully erosion has cut their road into two making the community inaccessible.

Chief Gabriel Ezeani, who made the disclosure to the press, explained that their community may be wiped out by the menace if urgent steps were not taken.

He also appealed to Governor Obiano-led administration to pay a visit to the area to assess the havoc wrecked by the erosion with a view to advising the federal government better on the issue.
