The Federation of International Football Association is to spend one point two million dollars on the establishment of a football technical centre in Kebbi State.
Mohammed Sanusi, the General Secretary of Nigeria Football Federation, who stated this in Birnin Kebbi said that Kebbi was chosen for the project because NFF appreciated the zeal and commitment of the state government to sports development.
He spoke when he led an NFF delegation to the state to inspect and take possession of the four hectares of land for the establishment of the football technical centre.
The NFF General Secretary said the Kebbi state government did this to ensure that sportsmen and women receive adequate training to compete at national and international levels.
While responding, the Governor of the state Mr. Atiku Bagudu welcomed the establishment of the centre by FIFA and said it would enhance the promotion and development of sports in the state.
