The traditional ruler of Enugu-Ukwu, Igwe Ralph Ekpe has called on the federal government to ensure the enthronement of the true practice of democracy in Nigeria.

Igwe Ekpe, who made the call while speaking to the press at his Enugwu-Ukwu palace, decried injustices which according to him has put a big question mark on the nation’s march to true democracy.

The Royal Father urged the federal government to address the fundamental human rights of Nigerians to give a sense of belongings to all parts of the country.

On the inauguration of the state’s Seventh Assembly, the Royal Father expects the lawmakers to cooperate with the executive arm of the government to move the state to the next level.

In a related development, the traditional ruler of Ezinato, Igwe Timothy Ezenwaka urged the Federal Government to address the socio-economic and security challenges in the country.

Igwe Ezenwaka said it should borrow a leave from Anambra state where Governor Willie Obiano has effectively piloted the affairs of the state and tackle the issue of insecurity headlong.
