The Federal High Court Two, sitting in Awka, has slated the second of next Month, for continuation of hearing on a case of defamatory On line publication labeled against Six Students and a Worker of Madonna University, by the University Authorities.

The absence of the trial judge, Justice Babatunde Quadri, for the second time, forestalled the proceedings of the case, few days ago.

Speaking shortly after the new date for continuation was announced, the counsel to some of the Students, Mr Chinedu Igwe, wondered if the University would make a student and at the same time, mar the person.

He opined that criticism is not a crime but rather paves way for review and possible amendment.

On his part, the father to one of the students, Mr Christopher Onyejekwe, lamented the continued detention of his son and others and called on government and Church authorities to intervene to save the lives of the students .

Also speaking, another parent whose child is being detained, Mrs Charity Nnamani, recalled the huge amount of money spent on training their son, regretting that her son was already serving as a Corp member before the arrest on the nineteen of January this year.

Meanwhile, some Students under the aegis of National Association of Nigerian Students last week blocked the entrance of the court, demanding the release of their fellow students, being detained by the University for alleged publication of offensive materials.
