Nigeria and Ghana are aiming to ensure that the borders of both countries are effectively manned.

The Country’s Immigration Chiefs announced this in Kano at the passing out parade of the Nigeria Immigration Service Cadets.

Three hundred and ninety-six of them have been trained at the Nigeria Immigration Training School in Kano to protect the nation’s territorial integrity.

Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Mr Muhammad Babandede, and Comptroller-General of the Ghana Immigration Service, Mr Kwame Takyi were among Dignitaries at the event.

Nigeria and Ghana are in a partnership to address border related crimes and adopt some protocols of the Economic Community of West African States ECOWAS in order to improve on the security of both countries.

The Nigeria Immigration Service expresses readiness to step up the fight against banditry ravaging some States in the North-West in collaboration with other security agencies.
