Police Nab 2 Bank Staff For Threatening To Kidnap Their Branch Manager In Anambra
Police detectives attached to the Anambra Command of the Special Anti -Robbery Squad (SARS) have arrested one Izuchukwu Nebolisa aged 33 years and Simeon Obiakor aged 35 years for allegedly threatening to kidnap the branch Manager of their bank.
A statement signed by the State Police Public Relations Officer SP Haruna Muhammd said the Suspects who were arrested at Jesus Estate Obama Idemili South Local Government Area are drivers attached to Awka Branch of a Commercial Bank allegedly conspired and continuously threatened to kidnap their branch manager, one Chinwe Ezenwa through anonymous text messages unless she pays two million Naira to them.
The statement explained that suspects were triangulated and subsequently arrested after sustained intelligence with the aid of modern technology.
It said they have equally confessed to the crime and the SIM card used in sending the threatening massages to the complainant has also been recovered in their possession while the case is under investigation after which suspects would be charged to court for prosecution.
The statement added that the Commissioner of Police CP Mustapha Dandaura implored the Public to be wary of their close aides including domestic staff and do a thorough background checks before employing them in order to avert this kind of ugly situation.
