Anambra State Government has provided new Traffic Stop Sign hand device for Anambra Traffic Management Agency ATMA and Vehicle Inspection Officers VIOs.


The device was unveiled in the office of the Commissioner for Transport at the Jerome Udoji Secretariat Complex, Awka.
The Commissioner, Mr. Uchenna Okafor said that the new traffic stop sign device would be used by ATMA and VIO Personnel to control traffic in the state.
In an interview, the Managing Director and General Superintendent   ATMA, Mr. Pat Obiefuna explained that these devices will be used by ATMA officers to indicate whether motorists will stop or go.
Mr. Obiefuna said the new traffic device is very visible from any distance for motorists to see adding that wherever ATMA officers are positioned to control traffic, the device will be used.


He said that motorists were duty bound to obey ATMA officers whenever they are controlling traffic or stay clear off the roads in the state.
