Participating states in the Federal Government and UNICEF programme
have been urged to carry out their review analysis with the standard parameters to help track performance, expose challenges for corrective
purpose.

The UNICEF Specialist on Monitoring and Evaluation, Mrs. Maureen Okolo made the appeal during the “ Federal Government, UNICEF Country Programme of Cooperation Midyear Review Meeting” in Owerri, Imo State.

According to Mrs. Okolo, the midyear Review outlines the progress made, challenges and proffers solution for better days ahead which she noted is based on the three parameters of exceeding target, keeping on track and off track or constrained.

The  UNICEF Monitoring Manager from Abuja Mr. Hisham El Azzouni said  that UNICEF is committed to addressing all challenges that is represented in the work plan.


He urged participants to avoid generic issues such as funding, personnel and concentrate on the needed report as well as challenges facing them.


In  his opening remarks, the UNICEF Chief Field Officer Enugu, Mr. Ibrahim Conteh , said that in order to equip themselves
with the modern trends of reviews which focuses on results,  they should take advantage of  various training on result based management and its applicability for efficient and effective programming.

In their separate reactions, the Executive Secretary,  Enugu State Planning Commission, Mr. Dan Onyishi and Mrs. Obiaegeliaku Umeadi who is the Acting Permanent Secretary, Anambra State Ministry of Information and Public Enlightenment charged participants to focus on ways to improve their programming and impact  on the lives of children and women.
