Governor Willie Obiano Governor Willie Obiano has sworn in Honourable Amala Anazodo as Special Adviser, Legislative Matters.
Governor Obiano performed the function during the State Executive Council Meeting at the Government House, Awka.Performing the function, Governor Obiano charged him to bring his experience to bear in his new task.The Governor who announced the Special Adviser’s roles revolve around activities at the Senate, House of Representatives and State Assembly, said his major function is to help promote harmony and cohesion between the executive and the legislature, as well as provide advice as and when due.
Also at EXCO, the Governor presented certificate of Honourable Mention to the immediate past commissioner for Health, Dr Joe Akabuike for his services in the health sector for five years.It would be recalled that Dr. Akabuike served as Anambra State Commissioner for Health from tenth April 2014 to eighteenth June 2019.He further explained that the award is the highest recognition any Anambra indigene can get from the State government, expressing optimism that it will spur Dr. Akabuike to make more advancements in his new post. UP SOTResponding, Dr. Akabuike appreciated the Governor and members of EXCO for the recognition, which according to him shows that people observed the little contribution they made in the health sector.He also thanked the people of Nanka in Orumba North local government area and his family members for their support throughout his period in the Health Ministry.Speaking on behalf of the Traditional Ruler of Nanka, the Chairman of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Chief Damian Okeke-Ogene described the Governor’s move as honourable disengagement, expressing the appreciation of Ndi Nanka to his administration.
