The traditional ruler of Ihiala, Oluooha Thomas Obidiegwu, says he will run an inclusive government for peace and development in Ihiala town.
Igwe Obidiegwu stated this when Uzoakwa Community led by their
Ezealadike, Uchenna Nsofor, paid him homage at his palace.
Correspondent, Oggorchukwu Oranu reports that Oluooha Obidiegwu who stressed that kingship has spiritual
inclination, said he will work towards enthroning peace and brotherliness in Ihiala town.
He called on all feuding parties to bury their hatchets for the progress of the town.  Â
The ten communities in Uzoakwa during the visit officially presented Chief Uchenna Nsofor as the Ezealadike and traditional head of Uzoakwa. Â
Ezeala Nsofor in an interaction with the ABS, urged the traditional ruler of Ihiala to ensure that the town is returned to its former glory where people live in peace and harmony and are not denied of
what is due to them.
He promised to run an open door policy and charged the community to
live uprightly.
The Chairman of Umudike Uzoakwa community, Chief Augustine Okafor,
said they rallied round their Ezealadike to pay homage to their new king who was given the staff of office and certificate of recognition by the state government and also to officially present their
Ezealadike who was collectively selected by traditional title holders in
Umudike.
A stakeholder from the community, Ichie Emmanuel Ihenatuoha, who threw
more light on the process of Ascendency to the kingship throne in Ihiala, pointed out that Ihiala has an age long traditional institution that has   three major documents that stipulate guidelines for the kingship, which he said is for Dioha Royal Family and commended the
state government for ensuring that there is peace in Ihiala and sue for the reconciliation of all feuding parties.
Others who spoke to ABS including the Onowu of Ihiala, Chief Linus
Alaehi, Nze Ogbuagu Obijekwu, Chairman of Ndi Nzeobo, Uzoakwa, Ibe Chukwulue, chairman, Umudike Uzoakwa Youths assured of their support towards the progress of Ihiala town.
Some symbolic events during the ceremony include breaking of kolanut,
itupu mmanya by Oluooha Obidiegwu the Seventeenth, the sounding of the
Nnukwu Oja and Ekwe as well as traditional music display.
