Nigeria’s super falcons have moved two places up the FIFA Women’s rankings, following their first ‘Round of sixteen’ appearance at the FIFA Women’s World Cup in twenty years.

The rankings released on FIFA’s website today placed the African champions in the thirty-sixth position with one thousand, six hundred and forty-three points, to remain the continent’s top placed team.

The U.S at the tournament has retained their top spot as the world’s best.

Jill Ellis’ team strengthened their hold after defeating four fellow top-six nations in the process to extend their lead to one hundred and twenty-one points over Germany who are second.
