The Provost Nwafor Orizu College of Education Nsugbe, Dr Ifeyinwa Osegbo,has tasked staff and students of the college to remain focused in the discharge of their duties.


She stated this during the maiden celebration of her one year in office held at the College Auditorium. The  ceremony had in attendance members of academic community of the Institution, students and other well wishers.


The Provost in her address, enumerated notable achievements within her one year in office to include, construction of Vocational Skills Acquisition Center, Constituency Project attracted by the  member who represented Anambra East and West Federal constituency, in the Eight Assembly  Mr. Tony Nwoye, Asphalting of College internal roads and Construction of two storey building Vocational Center.


Dr. Osegbo who thanked Anambra State Government, the College Governing Council, the management staff and students of the institution said the race for a better academically oriented institution requires more work and dedication. She therefore requested for all hands to be on deck for more accomplishments. 


In his opening remarks, the chairman on the occasion Dr Humphrey Nzekwe eulogized the Provost, describing her as the symbol of excellence whose one year in office is a pointer to future academic exploits.  
In an interviews, the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development Mrs. Ndidi Mezue, who is a product of the college, expressed gratitude for the wonderful developmental strides in the college within the Provost’s one year in office, noting that  it is a new dawn.  


The Chairman,  College Sports Council, Dame Chika Osinaomumu, expressed happiness that the college under the watch of the Provost, is waxing stronger in various fields especially in Sports activities, as the College contingents won medals during the recent Nigerian Colleges of Education Games held at Obudu, Cross River State. 


The one year in office celebration which also featured special prayers for the Provost and Staff of the college, conducted jointly by Reverend father Benjamine Udeh and Venerable Chukwurah, climaxed with special recognition of outstanding Staff, presentation of Cash awards to the contingents of the NOCEN games in Obudu and special Oja music rendition by Dr Onwudifu.
