It was a moment of thanksgiving to God for the gift of a child as the family of Mrs Uche Nwosu of the Anambra Broadcasting Service present to God their daughter little Miss Ifechukwu Catherine Nwosu.
The dedication mass which took place at Assumption Catholic Outstation Awka, attracted members of the ABS family, friends and well wishers who gathered to rejoice with one of their own.
In a homily during the mass, the Priest in-charge, Reverend Father Kenechukwu Okafor, who spoke on the value of persistence and consistent prayer, said there is need for intercessory prayer in their lives as God who created them harkens to the petitions of His people.
Reverend Father Okafor asked them to direct their prayers according to the instruction given to them by God and to shun selfish prayer, advising couples to mould, nurture and raise Godly children who will not slumber in the service of God.
Felicitating with the family, Pastor Afam Akwanamnye said that the entrance of a new child is glorious and marvelous, stressing the need to bring up the child in the way of God so as to run away from what he called end time spirit.
Some relations of the family, including Mr. Echezona Otto and Mr. Innocent Okonkwo who thanked God for the gift of little Miss Ifechukwu, beckoned on the parents to ensure the baby is rooted in God and always believe that he will provide all needed for the training of the child.
While appreciating God for bringing light into their family, the parents of the new baby, Mr. Obi and Uche Nwosu said that children are blessings from God which bring joy, happiness and fulfilment , calling other expectant mothers to wait patiently for the Lord to visit them.
Special prayers for the family and the dedication of little Miss Ifechukwu and thanksgiving also featured at the mass.
