Anambra State Commissioner for Environment, Mr Obi Nwankwo, says the
State will soon emerge as one of the neatest in the Country.
He stated this while addressing newsmen shortly after monitoring last month’s clean up exercise in Awka, Onitsha and Nnewi respectively.
Mr Nwankwo, said that the monitoring was to ensure that people observed the clean up exercise religiously.
The Commissioner also noted that the monitoring was in line with Governor Willie Obiano’s directive to ensure that Ndi Anambra are living in a clean and healthy environment.
It would be recalled that the Ministry of Environment in conjunction with Anambra State Waste Management Authority and OCHA Brigade recently inaugurated Dobe Anambra Ocha campaign with the aim of sensitizing Ndi Anambra on the importance of keeping their environment clean.
