Anambra State government has promised to increase its support to Micro, Small and Medium Scale Enterprises.

Governor Willie Obiano gave the promise while receiving an award presented to Anambra as the most supportive State to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in Nigeria.

The award was presented by the Secretary to the State Government,
Professor Solo Chukwulobelu, during the State Executive Council Meeting at the Government House, Awka.

Receiving the award, Governor Obiano explained that the State is doing well in agro businesses, manufacturing, trade, services and many more.

The Governor who stressed that he will do more, maintained that his administration is willing to support more Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in agriculture, especially those ready to access  fund from the Central Bank of Nigeria  which has approved three point five billion Naira for such ventures.

While stressing that the award will spur him to continue to do more, he said that it will hopefully go a long way to supporting the food sufficiency initiative of his government.

Earlier Professor Chukwulobelu explained that the State government’s
intervention in Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises through the Anambra State Business Agency earned her the award, pointing out that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is committed to providing shared facilities to small scale businesses in the State, stressing that access to finance, ease of doing business, training, among others, were among the criteria for selecting the best State.

It would be recall that last week, Professor Chukwulobelu represented
the State government where the award was presented by the Vice President in Abuja.

Anambra was nominated alongside Lagos, Kaduna and Abia States respectively.
