Anambra State Community and Social Development Agency, ASCSDA, World
Bank-assisted will by Monday next week commence the disbursement of funds to some communities in Anambra East and West, Awka South and Dunukofia local government areas.


The General Manager of the Agency, Mr. Chudi Mojekwu announced this during a two-day training for Community Project Management Committee, CPMC and Sub-Committee members from the council areas.

Mr. Mojekwu, who announced that the funds are purely for the execution of their micro projects as contained in their various Community Development Plans, CDPs or Group Development Plans, GDP, told them that their approval letters from the World Bank will be given to them
at the end of the training to enable them write for the release of the first thirty percent tranch of the total cost for the projects execution.


He however announced that Enugwu-Aguleri community in Anambra East
council area has through Community and Social Development Project CSDA constructed a town hall where women can sit with men and deliberate on issues that affect their community outside the aged long one that forbids women. 


The Operations Manager, CSDA, Mrs. Uche Nwizugbo urged the participants to consider the plight of the physically challenged while executing their projects through giving them access roads and others.


Taking participants on “Financial Management”, the Financial Manager,
Mr. Francis Madubuonu noted that the World bank’s articles of agreement requires that funds must be used for the intended purposes in an efficient and economical way. 


Later in a vote of thanks, the Chairman, Community Project Management Committee for Dunukofia local government area, Chief Chuks Ilozue
applauded the state government for the laudable project.


He promised to execute the projects according to specification to achieve the desired goals.


In their separate, speeches some of the participants, Mr. Simon Orakwe, Chairman Awka North CPMC, Mrs. Onyinye Egbuche, treasurer Nkpunando  Sub-Committee and Robert Nnazor, Treasurer CPMC Anambra West local government area promised judicious  use of the funds, and timely completion of the projects.
