Members of Anambra State Security Council have assured the citizenry of adequate security, especially during this year’s August meeting.
Rising from its periodic meeting with Governor Willie Obiano at the Governor’s lodge, Amawbia, the council asked Ndi Anambra to go about their normal duties without fear of molestation.
The council is made-up of all security agencies in the state and traditional institution, represented by Obi Alfred Achebe, among others.
Speaking on behalf of the Council, the state Commissioner of Police, CP John Abang said they deliberated on many issues, topmost of which is maximum security during and after the ongoing August meeting.
Commissioner Abang who said that events of such magnitude are usually
associated with crimes, stressed that all security agencies in the state are ready to contain such issues.
He however warned criminal elements in parts of the state to retrace their steps, as they cannot escape the long arm of the law.
Also speaking, the chairman, state Traditional Rulers’ Council, Obi Achebe
said that members of the Traditional Rulers’ Council are working closely with security agencies to ensure that peace and tranquility are maintained in their various communities.
Concerning the burning issue of farmers and herders conflict all over the country and the state in particular, Obi Achebe expressed confidence in the ability of the Anambra State Cattle Menace Committee
to handle possible issues that emanate from the conflict.
