The Wife of Ondo State Governor, Mrs Betty Akeredolu says females will be trained in Taekwondo knockouts as self defence against rape in the State.

She stated this following the alleged rape of an under graduate female student of a Higher Institution in the State by soldiers at a checkpoint.

She spoke during a visit to the State Commissioner of Police Mr Undie
Adie in Akure to deliver a protest letter to express her disdain over the slow space of the prosecution of the suspects.

The wife of the Governor was accompanied to the Police Commissioner’s office by an expert in Taekwondo whose services had been engaged by her to show her determination.

It would be recalled that Governor Rotimi Akeredolu among others have insisted that the military should hand over the suspects to the Police for prosecution.

But the Commander of the 32 Artillery Brigade, Brigadier-General Zakari Abubakar, said that those involved were already in army detention while they await medical report from the police which is important in the ongoing investigation.
