As Muslims the world over celebrate Eld el-Kabir, the Emir of Nasarawa,  Alhaji Ibrahim Usman Jibril, has practically demonstrated his love for peaceful coexistence by hosting the entire community, made of people from different  tribes in Nigeria.

The dining and wining together created an atmosphere of conviviality that Nigeria of today appears to need greatly.

Our ABS Abuja Crew member, Michael Ameh, who covered the event reports
that the Emir of Nasarawa, in his speech, extolled the community for accommodating people of diverse ethnic and religious inclinations,
pointing out that it accounts for the relative peace and security in the area.

He acknowledged the presence of people from different tribes that have
come to pay homage,  as sign of peace in the land.

The  president of Igbo community in Nasarrawa state,  Chief Charles
Onyeagba and other non indigenous traditional leaders described the
harmonious and peaceful co-existence among them as one of the  ways to
achieving overall development in the state and the country.

Airing their opinions on what Eld El Kabir means and how it could bring peace and accord in the community, they said that the good thing about this year’s celebration was that it fell on a Sunday, showing how both Christians and Muslims should come together and save Nigeria through prayer and love.

The Sarki Yoruba of Nasarawa, Alhaji Bashiru Yusuf, described Nasarawa
as the miniature Nigeria, where peace and unity exist among the indigenes and non indigenes of Nassarrawa.
