Inoma and Ukwalla communities in Anambra West Local Government area, have received fifty percent worth of the total cost of their chosen Micro project under the World Bank assisted community and social development project- additional financing, while Umuewelum community of the same local government area received thirty percent for their own project.


The communities received cheques for various sums of money when the officials of the Anambra State Community and Social Development Agency led by its Chairman, Igwe Rowland Odegbo, visited them for the inauguration of the projects in their areas.


The community and social development project is a scheme sponsored by the Anambra State government, assisted by the World Bank, aims at improving the living standards of the people.


Inoma community chose borehole facility and Market stores, while Ukwalla community chose borehole facility and solar street light, and Umuewelum community is to renovate a dilapidated secondary school, in addition to sinking a borehole.


Addressing members of the communities visited, the Chairman of the Agency, Igwe Rowland Odegbo of Nteje advised the people in charge of the projects against mismanagement of fund, reminding them that the Agency and the World Bank will not take it lightly with anyone who tries to divert the money.


Contributing, the General Manager, Anambra State Community and Social Development Agency, Mr Chudi Muojekwu cautioned the people against unnecessary delaying of the project, saying that the Agency will always play its part to ensure timely completion of the projects.
He advised those in charge of the projects to stick to directives and be transparent in their service to the communities.


In their remarks, the Traditional Ruler of Ukwalla community, Igwe Joseph Ajodo, and the President-General of Umuewelum community, Mr. Clement Chigbata thanked the Obiano administration for chosen their various communities for the projects, assuring to co-operate with those in charge of the projects to deliver on specifications.
In their separate reactions , the Chairmen of the Community and Social Development Programme in the areas, Messrs Godspower Olottah of Inoma, Joseph Omachonu of Ukwalla, and Charles Nnoluka of Umuewelum community, promised not to disappoint the government and their various communities.
