The Anambra State Sector Command has recognized seven practising Journalists and broadcasters in the State for their promotion of Road Safety.

Ijeoma Uche and Prince Emeka Kalu both of the Anambra Broadcasting Service were part of the seven persons who received the award from the State Sector Commander, Mr Andrew Kumapayi.

In a cermony held in Awka, the seven Journalists were described as exceptional by the FRSC command in their roles of ensuring the promotion of safety on the road through dissemination of road safety information.

Ijeoma Uche, the Co-host of ABS TV flagship programme, “Good Morning Anambra” and anchor of “Xpressions” alongside Prince Emeka Kalu, National Vice President of Radio, Television and Theatre Arts Workers Union, RATTAWU, South East Zone, Sir Emma Ifesinachi, State Chairman of Nigerian Union Of Journalist and Sir Abuchi Onwumelu of Fides Newspaper were part of those honoured by the Command.

Receiving the awardees, Chief Uche Nworah, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the ABS, described Ijeoma and Emeka as hardworking, creative, innovative and dedicated to their work, and assured that the organization will continue to create platforms for the FRSC to properly educate the populace on best road safety practices.

In a goodwill message, the memeber representing Njikoka Two Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Dr Pete Ibida commended the FRSC for their good works in the State while noting that the revolutionary iniatives of the present administration to reposition the state Media outfit, is beginning to yeild the expected results.

On his part, the Sector Commander of FRSC, Mr Kumapayi assured that the command will never relent in its duty towards promoting road safety in the state.

He explained that the command has extended its road patrols till 9pm which is expected to last beyond the Eid el-Kabir celebrations.
