The Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Revered Paulinus Ezeokafor has encouraged Christians to sustain their faith and defend their religion.
Bishop Ezeokafor stated this in a homily during the dedication and Silver Jubilee of Saint Mary’s Catholic Church Egbengwu Nimo, Njikoka Council Area.
Bishop Ezeokafor said that it is important that as they built the church, they should also build their lives for their body is the temple of the Holy Spirit.
He urged them to renew their relationship with God and keep the church sacred so as not to chase the Holy Spirit away from the church.
The Prelate further advised them to always serve God with humility as mother Mary whom they made their patron saint will always intervene for them.
Speaking shortly after the mass, the member representing Njikoka Two Constituency in the state House of Assembly, Chief Pete Ibida who hails from the community thanked God for great things he has done and called on them to keep the church solemn and always draw nearer to God with faith.
Our Correspondent, Amaka Chibuzor Okoye who covered the pontifical high mass, reports that thanksgiving and anthem by the church choir featured during the celebration.
