Barely three years after the establishment of Community Secondary school, Okpeze, Orumba North Local Government Area, through “Community choose your project initiative” the school is receiving another government intervention in area of science laboratory and examination hall.
This time around, it is the World Bank-assisted Community and Social Development Project that will provide these facilities in less than one month from now.
The school which is the only secondary school in the community, received through the chairman, Okpeze Community Project Management Committee, CPMC, Mr. Emeka Nweke a cheque for over two million naira, to cover the first thirty percent of the total cost of the projects.
The event which took place in the community, attracted management and staff of the Anambra State Community and Social Development Agency as well as sons and daughters of the community.
Presenting the cheque, the General Manager, Anambra state Community and Social Development Agency, Mr. Chudi Mojekwu said Okpeze community will provide over seven hundred thousand naira, representing ten percent of the total cost of the projects, as their counterpart funding.
Mr. Mojekwu urged them to give members of the CPMC and Subcommittee maximum support and cooperation to deliver the project in record time and according to specifications.
Also speaking, a former chairman, Orumba North local government and an APGA stalwart, Mr Alphonsus Mmuogbo, who identified their major problem as education, appealed for the completion of AmanseaOkpeze-Ndiukwuenu-Awa road.
In their various speeches, the President General, Okpeze Development Union, Chief Donatus Nwafor and the CPMC chairman, Mr. Nweke announced that they had already completed their own cash contribution and is ready to expedite action.
