The President of the Nigeria Table Tennis Federation, Mr. Ishaku
Tikon, says Nigeria’s Table Tennis team at the 2019 Rabat Africa Games
will return home with five gold medals.
Mr. Tikon who gave the assurance in an interview stated that those
selected to represent Nigeria were the best in Africa.
According to him, the table tennis players including five male and
female players are expected to replicate their performance at the
Nigeria Open in Rabat.
Among the continental stars selected to represent Nigeria are Aruna
Quadri, Segun Toriola, Funke Oshonaike and Cecelia Edem.
He said, their expectation is to sustain the momentum of what they
have done here in Nigeria Open, transfer it to Rabat and win gold
medals for Nigeria.
The table tennis event at the Games is expected to be a strong contest
between Nigeria and Egypt with players that represented both countries
dominating the recently-concluded 2019 ITTF Challenge Plus Nigeria
Open held in Lagos.
