A twelve man committee to  work out modalities for the conduct of
election into the Nsugbe Development Union has been inaugurated.

The committee was inaugurated during a meeting convoked by the patrons
of the union, held at the Nsugbe Town hall.

Correspondent Ngozi Obileri covered the event and reports that  the Patrons convoked the meeting in accordance with  the
Town’s constitution that provides for patrons of the town union which
will comprise of not more than three persons, that must be sixty years
and above.

That portion of the constitution allows the patrons to broker peace in
the affairs of the town whenever the need arises, through any means
they deemed fit.

In view of this, the Patrons of the Union Chiefs Mike Egbuche and
Amechi Okeke called for a meeting of all Nsugbe people both home and
abroad.

After deliberations, the meeting unanimously constituted a committee
that will bring out modalities for the conduct of the election.

Inaugurating the committee, one of the patron’s chief Egbuche charged
the committee to ensure peaceful resolutions of all the issues
affecting the peace of the community and ensure that an election is
conducted as planned.

A former Senator that represented Anambra  North Senatorial District Senator Ubanese Igbeke, and the immediate past Member that represented Anambra East and West Federal Constituency, Honourable Tony Nwoye, and another stakeholder in the community Mr. KC Emoh and many others said it was high time an election is conducted in the town, to usher in more
development.

They advised youths of the community to engage themselves meaningfully
as a way of fostering development of the community.

Responding on behalf of other members of the Committee, the chairman
of the Committee, Reverend Father Ifeanacho Egbuniwe ,promised that
they will work hard and fast to ensure that things work out well.

Over one hundred and fifty indigenes of the community were present at
the meeting.
