Ndiokpalaeze community in Orumba North local government area has taken their turn from the World Bank-assisted Community-based social
infrastructures project by receiving a cheque for over one point one
million naira.
The money is for the equipping of their Health Centre and installation
of solar panel inverter.
Correspondent Ebele Ezeh reports that the event which took place at
Ndiokpalaeze town hall, constructed through the Governor Willie Obiano
community choose your project initiative, attracted Ndiokpalaeze
Community Project Management Committee and Sub-committee members
including other opinion leaders.
Presenting the cheque to the chairman of Ndiokpalaeze Community
Project Management Committee, CPMC, Sir Mathew Uwakwe, the General
Manager, Anambra state Community and Social Development Agency, Mr
Chudi Mojekwu, announced that the money is the first fifty percent of
the over two million naira cost of the two micro projects.
Mr. Mojekwu, who stated that any delay on the execution of the project
will come from the community, assured that on their own part, the
money for the project is readily available.
He charged them to strictly comply with the standards and directives
contained in the agreement paper they signed with the agency.
Receiving the cheque, Ndiokpalaeze CPMC chairman, Sir Mathew, on
behalf of other members promised transparency and timely completion of
the project for the collective welfare of the community in general.
In his remarks , the President General of Ndiokpalaeze, Dr. Dozie
Nwosu, said they choose equipping of their health centre and
installation of solar panel inverter to provide permanent solution to the
problem of storage facilities for some immunization drugs that need
constant light and refrigeration .
