Anambra State government has called on tricycle operators in the state to disregard any persons or group that may claim to be the leadership of the union, as against the leadership elected by the state government to man the affairs of the union.
The Commissioner for Transport Mr Uchenna Okafor made the call while reacting to the alleged plan by a group known as Tricycle Owners Association of Nigeria, TOAN, to hold a congress at Igwebuike Grammar School today.
Speaking through the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Transport Mr Dan Ezeanwu, Mr Okafor advised tricycle operators to disregard the invitation for congress and go about their normal business.
