The Catholic Men Organization, CMO, of Sacred Heart’s Chaplaincy, Ngozika Housing Estate, Awka has commenced an eight-day Empowerment Seminar For Youths geared towards ensuring that the youths achieve their full potential in life.


Declaring the programme open, the Chairman Catholic Men Organization of the Chaplaincy, Sir Michael Chilokwu noted that youth are full of energy and such initiative is to accompany their energy with knowledge to face their future and advised them to embrace healthy life style.


Speaking on the topic “Sustainable Relationship, Courtship and Marriage,” the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Development, Pastor Yugo Emechebe said to choose right spouse, couple should see love as commitment which impacts in all ramifications and can stand the test of time.


He pointed out that sex gives false knowledge of human identity, stressing that courtship is a period for interviews and not intercourse, advising them to exercise patience in choosing their life partners.


In a remark, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of ABS, Chief Uche Nworah while recalling his youthful days, said that the Programme was put in place to ensure that the youths are fully armed with knowledge in order to remain in the right track so as to become useful citizens in the society.


Also speaking, the Moderator of the seminar, Professor Emenike Obi represented by the Catechist of the church, Mr. Ray Nwokike and Chaplain of the church, Reverend Father Hyacinth Okafor described the seminar as fulfilling and according to them will go a long way to equip the youths against avoidable mistakes in their youthful age .
An artist, Chidi Okoye also opened a walk-in art exhibition at the venue aimed at stimulating the interest of young people in creative arts.
