The Anambra State House of Assembly has passed a resolution urging Governor Willie Obiano to direct the Anambra State Road Maintenance Agency through the Commissioner for Works to commence palliative repairs on Neni-Adazi Enu-Ichida-Awka Etiti-Nnewi road.
House of Assembly Correspondent, Chukwuemeka Modilim reports that the resolution was sequel to a motion sponsored to that effect by the member representing Anaocha Two Constituency, Chief Ejike Okechukwu during plenary.
The Lawmaker explained that the road is in deplorable condition as it has become a death trap to motorists plying the route.
On their parts, the member representing Anaocha One Constituency, Mr Ebele Ejiofor and his Onitsha South One Constituency counterpart, Mr Uzoma Eli, narrated the constant hardship the road users experience on daily basis and urged the Anambra Road Maintenance Agency, ARMA to do the needful.
The member representing Idemmili South Constituency, Mr Chuka Ezenwune, supported the motion, just as the Speaker, Right Honourable Uchenna Okafor, expressed confidence that the Ministry of Works will come to the aid of the road users.
The Speaker read out the resolution of the House, while the lawmakers supported it through a voice vote
