The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS, Chief Uche Nworah has called on students to uphold hard work and dedication to learning so as to be in charge of their field of study on graduation.


Chief Nworah made the call when Theatre Art students of Alvan Ikokwu Federal College Of Education Owerri, Imo state, paid a visit to the ABS on excursion. Chief Uche Nworah charged the students to work hard so as to benefit from emerging employment opportunities in the broadcast industry.


The MD and Chief Executive Officer of the ABS who attributed the present transformation of the ABS to the efforts and commitment of Governor Willie Obiano to maintaining the lead in governance, identified ‘rich content’ of the ABS station as its major selling points, and encouraged the students to always listen to ABS to keep themselves abreast with the happenings around the globe.


In an interview, two Lecturers in the institution’s Theatre Art department who accompanied the students on the excursion, Dr. Chisimdi Ihentuge, and Mohammed Jibril-Imam, while expressing happiness on the attention accorded them by the ABS management during the visit, expressed the hope that the purpose of their visit which is exposing the students to modern day broadcasting is already achieved.


They commended Anambra state Governor for investing a lot in ABS which according to them distinguishes it from all other government owned station in Nigeria.


The students who could not hide their excitement, praised the sophisticated equipment at the ABS digital Radio and Television studios as they were given a guided tour by the ABS Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Chief Uche Nworah. They rated the station high, ranking it the best they had so far visited in the South East.
