The Chairman, Anambra State House of Assembly Committee on Information and Culture, Hon. Okechukwu Okoye has urged the Federal Ministry of Works to declare state of emergency on dilapidated federal roads in the state.
House of Assembly Correspondent, Chukwuemeka Modilim reports that the Lawmaker made the appeal while speaking to journalists on state of federal roads in Anambra State after plenary.
Hon. Okoye lamented that all the federal roads constructed after the civil war which cut across the state are now dilapidated due to lack of rehabilitation.
This ugly development he regretted has caused untold hardship to road users of every description. He decried the poor state of the roads and massive hold ups recorded there owing to broken down vehicles or people trapped by the bad roads calling on President Buhari to give urgent attention to the roads.
On his part, the member representing Orumba South Constituency, Hon.
Emma Nwafor who stated that it is a settled axiom in the public policy analysis of government that it is the duty of the government to do for the people, what they cannot do for themselves, appealed to President Buhari to the come to aid of the state.
