Three robbery suspects, who specialize in car and handsets snatching, have been arrested by the Operatives of Operation Puff Adder of the State Police Command.


Over one hundred and fifty handsets suspected to have been stolen from different victims were recovered from the suspects.


Following a credible intelligence report, Puff-Adder operatives in conjunction with Police detectives attached to Aguata Division arrested the suspects.


They are Anyingor Arinze of Othuke, Asaba Delta State, Chinedu Nweke of Mbekwe Estate, Ogidi in Idemili North Local Government Area and Ebuka Christian Eziamaka of Ire village Obosi in Idemili North Local Government Area.


The suspects were said to be part of the gang allegedly involved in series of armed robbery and car theft in Anambra and Asaba axis including the snatching of one Toyota Corolla 2004 and Lexus 300 car on the twenty-first July in Aguata.


Exhibits recovered from them included one Gionee handset belonging to one of the victims whose vehicle was snatched.


Other exhibits recovered are twelve Itel phones of different models, twenty-six Infinix phones of different models, thirty-two Tecno phones of different models, sixteen Samsung phones of different models, three Gionee phones of different models and sixty other smaller phones of different make and models.


According to the Police Public Relations Officer Mr Haruna Mohammed, the case is under investigation after which the suspects will be charged to court for prosecution.


The Command enjoined the Public whose handsets were either snatched or stolen through similar modus to report at the Special Anti robbery Squad Awkuzu to claim them and also give further evidence to aid Police investigation.
