Ndi Anambra have been urged to support various initiatives by Governor Willie Obiano’s administration to consolidate on sustainable development.
Speaking to journalists in Awka, the National Chairman of Willie Obiano Support Group, Chief Jude Emecheta, on Twenty-Eight Year Anniversary of the State Creation, said people of the state have many reasons to celebrate because of commendable achievements recorded over the years.
Chief Emecheta said while previous successive administrations made commendable inputs in moving the state forward, the APGA governments brought innovations that raised the bar of governance and quality of life across the state.
He noted that Governor Obiano’s holistic and strategic approach to governance have set a template for comprehensive development of all sectors which make the state a pace-setter in security, agriculture, infrastructure, health, investment and education among others.
Chief Emecheta observed that the success recorded in the implementation of his pillars of development and enablers is accelerating economic growth that would boost the state Gross Domestic Product, GDP.
He called on investors to explore and harness abundant opportunities emerging in various sectors of the State economy to expand their businesses and create employment opportunities for teeming youths . Also speaking, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Security, Mr Oscar Christopher, said Governor Obiano has remained responsive to the primary responsibilities of providing effective security of life and property and provision of basic amenities as well as enabling environment for socio- economic activities to thrive, noting that his visionary initiative of setting up Anambra Cattle Menace Control Committee has drastically curbed conflict and confrontation between farmers and herdsmen.
Mr. Christopher noted that mass installation of street lights across the state in both rural and urban areas has further strengthened the security infrastructure and restored night life and urged landlords and business owners to also install security lights in their compounds to compliment efforts of the government.
