The Commissioner for Health, Dr. Vincent Okpala says the goal of the Willie Obiano administration is to create a standard and effective health care system.
Dr. Okpala stated this when he alongside the Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly, Honourable Uche Okafor inspected the Anaku General Hospital, Ayamelum Local Government Area.Speaking shortly after the inspection, Commissioner Okpala explained that they came to the hospital which was supposed to be a secondary health care facility on a spot assessment visit to bring it back to service after being destroyed by fire.

Dr. Okpala further noted that Governor Obiano is too passionate about the healthy living of Ndi Anambra and other residents of the State, hence the huge investments his administration has made in the health sector and appealed to Ndi Anambra to always take ownership of all government facilities in their localities.

The Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly, Honourable Uche Okafor, who is equally the Member representing Ayamelum Constituency, said the Anaku General Hospital is supposed to serve the whole Local Government Area but has not been functional for years.
He commended Governor Obiano for his achievements in the state, especially in the Health Sector and assured that the Anambra State’s Seventh Assembly will continue to support the Governor in all his developmental initiatives , by giving prompt and accelerated hearing to all the executive bills that would be brought to the chamber.
The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Medical Supply, Jennifer Onyedikachi and the President General of Anaku, Mr Peter Onuorah were among the dignitaries that inspected the hospital.
